Nicole Kelly, Psy.D.
Clinical psychologist
IN THEORY, LLC
Welcome!
I’ve worked and trained, and trained and worked in the field of mental health since 2001. Since the 3rd grade I knew I wanted to become a psychologist. I carried a notebook around at recess and wrote about my peers—their problems, their behavior, and just…them. But at that time, I had no concept of the vastness of the profession. The branches of psychology are like that of a old, beautiful tree—overlapping and intersecting; separate and working together. My professional experience includes work in various settings—psychiatric hospitals, outpatient community mental health centers, residential treatment centers, county and state-level jails/prisons, and mental health crisis center. I’ve worked with individuals, couples, families and groups including young children through older adults. If I could go back in time, I would ask 3rd grade Nicole, “This has been a vast field, not a small playground. Did you work hard and get as much experience as you could?” Present day, middle-career Nicole would unequivocally say, “Yes.”
Whether I enter into an evaluation, consultation, or a treatment relationship with you, my hope is that my education and work experience, but mostly my life experience can benefit you.
